Active Volunteer Positions

PAWS Kuwait is looking for the following roles to be filled in our organization. All those roles require commitment and dedication of your time. Our regular volunteer program is designed for people who would like to participate in shelter operation without detail involvement to operation. You may become Active Volunteer, who will be involved in much deeper operations in case if you decide to fulfil one of the positions below. Please specify role which you would like to participate on your application to for volunteer if you one of those people who would like to be involved in animal rescue operation in detail.

CAMPAIGN TEAM

• Promoting animal welfare via campaigns
• Create posters, flyers, publicity materials etc.
• Linked with admin coordinator , photographer

RELATIONSHIP/ PR COORDINATOR

• Responsible for press releases
• Coordinating with media
• Keeping affiliation with other animal organisations
• Responsible for regular PAWS Newsletter
• Linked with Fundraising Coordinator and Chairpeople
• Reports to Chairpeople

FUNDRAISING COORDINATORS

• Responsible for fundraising
• Maintains database of sponsors and donators
• Maintains pet sponsors database and ensure donation collection
• Responsible for sponsorship coordination and relations with sponsors
• Send thank you gifts, certificates and letters as appropriate
• Linked with the PR Coordinator
• Reports to Chair people

EVENT COORDINATOR

• Responsible for PAWS events
• Sourcing more events
• Ensuring availability for equipment at the events
• Ensuring availability for staffing
• Help publicize the event
• Responsible for giving out event tickets
• Collection for raffle prices
• Maintain database of bands, embassy contacts, caterers, event locations
• Ensure event donations are passed to the Treasurer
• Linked with Merchandiser, PR Coordinator, Photographer and Treasurer
• Reports to Chairpeople

PHOTOGRAPER

• Responsible for taking photos for adoptions and for lost &found
• Responsible for taking photos at the events
• Responsible for cage labels cats and dogs
• Linked with Website Coordinator and Shelter Manager and Dog/ Cat whisperer ( labels)

TRANSLATORS

• Convert written material from English to Arabic and Arabic to English

EDUCATION COORDINATOR

• Responsible for school and shelter visits
• Sourcing and maintaining educational programs
• Creating and storing educational materials
• Maintains database of schools
• Linked with Events Coordinator

MERCHANDISERS

• Responsible for sourcing merchandise
• Responsible for storing merchandise
• Linked with Event Coordinator, Storekeeper

VOLUNTEER COORDINATORS

• Respond to forwarded volunteer emails
• Organise induction/ training
• Identify and agreed with new volunteer on the role which they can perform for PAWS from the list of roles and provide this information back to “PAWS Phone Book”
• Liaise with shelter staff to undertake training
• Maintain volunteer database and contact details
• Link up with email coordinator
• Reports to Chair people

FOSTER COORDINATOR

Foster is only for animals which need special care like puppies/ kittens or injured animals

• Maintains fostering database
• Linked with Shelter Manager for decisions who requires fostering
• Follow up with fosterers

ADOPTION COORDINATORS

• Respond to forwarded adoption emails
• Liaise with Shelter Manager for shelter visits
• Maintain the database of adoption
• Follow up after 4 weeks
• Linked with Foster Coordinator, Shelter Manager, Photographer

DOG / CAT WHISPERER

• Regular checking out of the pets accommodation
• General health check of the animals
• Linked to the Shelter Manager
• Reports to Chairpeople

DOG TRAINERS

• Provide dogs with basic obedience skills to help them become better canine citizens
• Observe and record each dogs behavior

GROOMER

• Bath and brush the shelter animals to make them  more comfortable and more attractive to adopters
• Observe and record each dogs behavior

RESCUE TEAM/ TRANSPORTERS Members

• Participate in Rescue of animals
• Transportation of animals when required
• Linked with Info line Coordinator

WEBSITE COORDINATOR

• Maintaining PAWS website and other social networking sites (Facebook)
• Respond on comments, create and publish posts
• Regular updating of the website
• Linked with Shelter Manager, E-mail coordinator, Photographer, PR Coordinator, Chair people
• Reports to Chair people

INFOLINE COORDINATOR

• Responsible for answering the phone 8 am to 8 pm 7 days
• Maintain rotation
• Database
• Maintain FAQ
• Linked with Rescue Team
