PAWS Kuwait Humane Education

PAWS Kuwait Humane Education teaches kindness, respect and responsibility for people, animals and the environment.  It is about learning to respect life in our homes, communities and the environment. PAWS Kuwait strives to foster humane attitudes in youngsters by exposing them to animals and sensitizing them to their needs.  Children who embrace a healthy respect for animals are more inclined to transfer these caring attitudes toward all living things – including the people in their lives.

Humane Education is an important tool in the campaign to alleviate animal suffering and can help children grow into caring, compassionate human beings.  Humane Education counters the images of violence that bombard youngsters every day.   It encourages kindness and empathy for both human and nonhuman animals, and promotes understanding of our many diverse habitats. Sharing the love of animals also includes awareness of animal overpopulation and the reason for neutering and spaying. Most importantly, humane education strives to establish a sense of responsibility, making the world a better, more humane place.

Studies have shown that cruelty toward animals can lead to violent behavior toward people.  This link underscores the importance of humane teachings for the benefit of animals and people.

PAWS Kuwait can tailor the classes listed to the unique needs and interests of your students or organization.  Several humane education classes may be taught in a customized series to further enhance student learning.  For older students, we offer an intensive, full day study in humane education and animal welfare with Field Trip to animal shelter.

Programs are conducted in the classroom or school assembly space, are age-appropriate and typically last 45 minutes to 1 hour. Scheduling should be done in advance and will be served on a first-come-first-served basis and it may vary seasonally. The program is offered free of charge but donations are greatly appreciated (for a list of greatly needed donation items, please check our shelter wish list).

For more information on creating a customized education program, or to schedule a presentation, please contact PAWS.
